CAT4 is an internationally used assessment of reasoning ability across four batteries. Each battery has two subtests:

• Non-Verbal Reasoning: Figure Classification, Figure Matrices
• Spatial Ability: Figure Analysis, Figure Recognition

• Dubai private schools are encouraged to participate in external benchmarking of cognitive abilities.
• CAT4 is the most widely used benchmark tool locally, although some schools adopt approved alternatives.

• Publisher: GL Education / GL Assessment (global test provider).
• Local regulator: Government of Dubai (KHDA) sets policy for external benchmarking and supervises how schools administer CAT4.

CAT4 spans approximately ages 6–17+ across levels X, Y and A–G.
